So I had this wonderful idea that it would be super fun to wake up at 5am, beat the sunrise and take photos of the beautiful Washington Monument. I had my husband drop me off right in front of the monument and what a feeling it was to be so alone in the dark in such a big city. I was able to quietly set up my tripod and get the shot perfect before the sun rose at 636am. I thought it was so cool how the colors of the sunrise changed from cool to warm in a matter of 5 minutes. It was literally a feeling of "you better not look away because you'll miss it!"
