Loren, Drew and Ellis' trip to the Beach

What a beautiful evening at the beach to meet for photos, the sun was out, tide low, and we only had a slight breeze to work with! I had such a great time shooting these friends of mine. Ellis had the cutest serious face as well as smile and his parents did such a great job knowing just what made him laugh. I learned about all of Ellis' favorite games with his Dad and his love of running towards the water. I will always remember his little conversation he had with this parents while sitting for his photos, just too cute!

The Cold Never Bothered Her Anyway…..

It's that time of year again. pumpkins, apple cider, colder (well a little cooler in Va Beach) weather and Halloween costumes! My daughter along with most every girl around her age is obsessed with the movie Frozen. She wears her "frozen" dress as often as she can and guess what, wants to be Elsa for Halloween! She even let me take a few photos of her for memory's sake.

Also side note, this was my first time using a reflector for her close up shots. I really like the results. I should have gotten one a long time ago :-)

Fairytale Bridal Fine Art Shoot

The setting, a wooded 40 acre farm located within the "hustle and bustle" of Virginia Beach, VA , my subjects, sweet beautiful friends of mine and a lovable horse with a spunky personality set the stage for these fairytale bridal shots. I really love how these turned out. I love the warmth from the light, the romantic mood and I mean, isn't the bride just beautiful! She knew actually how she wanted to pose and did it so well.

Sunset Engagement

I was so excited when I was asked to take engagement photos on a sailboat. I mean, how often do you get to have a sailboat as your location!? The client's inspiration for this shoot was inspired by JFK and Jackie and their many photos on their sailboat.

I thought my clients did such a good job battling the elements of the choppy Chesapeake Bay and wind. I also gained experience in extreme adventure photography, battling those choppy seas, ha. It becomes a real challenge when your horizon line keeps moving up and down and side to side. Despite the obstacles, I felt that it was such a cool shoot. What an amazing opportunity and I'm so happy for this couple as they start their new lives together!
